BENEDIX - FOR CAREERS DEPARTMENTS & UNIVERSITIES
As part of our social responsibility scheme and in light of the financial crisis we face today Simon Dixon (MSc, BA) of Benedix is currently touring all UK Universities with his ‘Financial Crisis Tour’. His tour is aimed at preparing and aiding students seeking careers in the banking and finance sector and aiding university careers advisors to give up-to-date advice in light of the new economy we face today.
For Students
Since leaving investment banking Simon has been on a mission to educate students and graduates on what it takes to build a career in banking & finance. His experience as an economist, stock broker, market making, trader and corporate financier has allowed his to pass on his expert knowledge onto students who the drive to succeed in banking & finance.
He has presented talks at all the major universities as well training and consulting top financial institutions including Bloomberg, MF Global and T.D Waterhouse. He has also provided commentary for the BBC, City AM and Investors Chronicle.
From his research it has become apparent that, employment trends are changing and careers advice needs to change accordingly. The way the City employs students has changed and financial institutions are employing in very different fields to last year.
Benedix alongside Simon are offering a range of services to keep students and universities fully updated with the changes.
With additional help from the Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) Simon has developed a presentation for students. In 'The Future of Banking & Finance' students will discover:
- What is really happening in the banking & finance sector
- Unravelling the mystery of complex debt instruments that have contributed to the credit crunch
- How to succeed despite the current economic climate
- The latest trends and changes that are happening in employment market
- The way employers will be hiring from now on
Simon will present the talk on-campus where students can gain access to this unique information and ask any questions they have.
For Careers Advisors
Simon has also developed a presentation day specifically designed for university careers advisors only and will be delivered in conjunction with the Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) being held in the City of London in late January.
