I would really recommend this workshop to everyone out there who wants a career in banking & finance. It’s going to be the best thing that ever happened to you in a long time, i’d not kidding. The night before the workshop, being a friday night, made me think why did I decide to sacrifice my Saturday and it’s going to be rubbish since it’s a full day event with very little breaks and expecting half the people to leave by lunch time. But, when you are there, you would not want to miss out on anything for the whole day. Every single second throughout the day, no matter how much you need to go to the toilet or even if you wanted to check an SMS, you will be, this is just too good to be missed. Seriously, I recommend it to everyone out there.

Never have I ever been to a workshop where every ten minutes we would get up do a little dance scream out loud and massage each other!

It was fun I wont lie, and I hope if I am invited we get to do MORE of those things, maybe a few quirky dance moves could be included?

Personally if gave me a critical view of what ‘finance’ could be and what jobs there are available, as a second year I found that pretty valuable.

(It was also scary and good to know just how much debt the UK are in as well…found that pretty intriguing !)
So I hope I can go to the next workshop ….:)

The first time I saw Simon Dixon was on a career event in London. I was browsing though the stands, looking for the companies that I previously researched and wanted to see, when I have suddenly heard Simon Dixon on the microphone claiming he can help graduates “secure top paying careers and internships in Banking & Finance than any other program in the world”. I looked down my list with the agenda to see which company is now presenting and read Benedix. I sighed. Another recruitment agency, I thought to my self, and was ready to leave. But there was something, something in his voice, the confidence he was speaking with. He has this ability to engage the audience and suddenly I actually realized that I was standing there, positive that I would like to speak to this person after his presentation. At the end of his presentation, he pointed out where we can prepay for the Banking and Finance Workshop and I was rushing to be the first to pay and sign!
On the following Saturday, I went to the Workshop, and I call tell you, it was totally worth the money! It was not only inspirational, but also very informative; he covered the whole financial industry by sectors and made us realize where we match best. The best that the Benedix team prepared for me plus the Workshop made me realize what the most suitable career for me it would be and how to get there! I personally know people in their 30s who still don’t have a clue what exactly they want to do! Surely they’d say “ I want to work in a bank”, but after Simon’s workshop, you’d know exactly how little this means!
I would recommend it not only to graduates, but to anyone who has interest in working in Banking and Finance!

before I attended this course, I considered it is a bit too hard sell. But I really need to find an internship this summer, so I spent 70 quids and waited to see what Simon could teach me.

I was not disappointed. The three main points he mentioned during the city pro workshop are essential, i admit.

Also, benedix asked me to carry out the psychrometric test before attending. It is so useful. Before attending, I only focus on investment banks. But after doing the test and attending the course, I know that I should not only focus on IB but also on trading, which is as attractive as IB (in terms of earning $$) but not as frequently mentioned as IB among uni students.

Also, the ‘after sales’ service is great. You can approach a specific consultant for your career after attending the course.

Just simply try attending the course. 70 quids is not a big amount, but if you find a decent job because of taking the course, you will find it worth.

Speaking as a Banking & Finance Professional Workshop graduate, I sat where you are now, about 6 months ago not sure whether to take up this opportunity. This is as it has been promoted, “a life-changing experience”. If you are one who wants to head for the bright lights of London and work in the world-renowned City, Simon is the most honest guide you will find to give you the priceless advice one needs to secure a career in banking and finance. Hope to see you on the other side. Go find your credit/debit card, what are you waiting for?

i will briefly comment on Simon Dixon’s workshop that it would help anyone who is seeking a career in B&F in making the first right step. I went to same uni as Simon and was so confused about my career until I met him one day at uni. He came to Kingston uni for a presentation and did impressed me. I ended up buying ticket for a worshop. The USP of Simon is that he perfectly knows how someone can make a niche for themselves while hunting for jobs Plus he not only helps one preparing technically but also mentally for career in B&F. I would recommend this workshop more so in these hard times as insights given by Benedix could immensely accentuate chances of getting a dream job

Simon Dixon graduated with a first class degree in Economics. (Erm, wow.) He then made 97 applications for a job in the city. This included Investment banks, Accounting, Financial and Insurance companies.

He received 97 rejections!! (not so wow) But look at where he is now and what he’s achieved….
Who wouldn’t want to know what he knows now?!

I guarantee his workshops are very worth while.

On a friday afternoon, as I was walking down the isle in the NEC finding out about investment banks and such, I found a big crowd gathered, and a man giving a speech, thought to myself why not. This man’s presentation skills were breath taking, the topics he talked about touched very important points which represent the frears of every graduate out there. I thought to myself how can I learn from this man. I went to him after the presentation, and luckily he was doing a workshop on banking and finance, discounted too, I thought to myself why not. I registered. That is how I met Simon Dixon.
Later on that month, I took the train down to London, found my way to the venue, and there were loads of people gathered there. I was thinking how can I spend so many hours on a saturday listening to one man talking. But, guess what, with Simon you would not feel the time.
First of all, his presentation skills, his body lanuage, communication skills, tone of voice, pace of talking, all of it is a school you could learn from, put aside the amazing inside information you learn from the workshop, just watching the man closely how he talked, how he moved, how he picked his words taught me alot, if you pay attention you would pick up all the skills you need to be a great banker, how to sell yourself, be successful, earning your customers.
More importantly, the information and lessons you could learn from the workshop, it is the first time that I really understood how it would be working in the banking and finance, there were information he gave that you would not find elsewhere, and to my surprise he covered all that in about 8-9 hours only. You would go to the economics school, finance school, you name it, but I bet all my money if I got any, if you can gain such a practical experience like the one you get here. But at the end it all depends on you. Some people can come across gold and turn it into a fortune, and some would waste it all away. All I am telling you, with Simon you find the lost thread which will lead you to a very successful career in banking and finance. Your life, you choice.

    Hi,

I have been to Simon’s workshop last year on the Professional Workshop. I have to say, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Considering at the time, I had very little knowledge about the different ways of getting some work experience in the Financial Markets, I decided to give it a shot.

I would like to say that it is an investment in human capital. You will learn alot from there as well as be able to network with many different people.

The best thing I learnt from there was the need to be pro-active and always be on your feet. I thought the only way to get internships, work experience etc in the Financial Markets was through online applications. However, I was wrong. Through Simons workshop, I managed to start trading (what I was interested in) my personal account and make many valuable contacts ranging from analysts to Vice Presidents of Derivative Products in Investment Banks. I have also managed to secure my self a great day shadowing an experience trader in the City and a possible two week unpaid work experience in Merrill Lynch.

I dont think i would have got this far in my career if I hadn’t attended Simons workshop.

Following this, I purchased the Pro-trader work shop and the Mastery workshop which works on the technical skills to become a trader and CV Skills which is crucial.

I would recommend Simons workshop to anyone and on top of that, anyone who is interested in trading should purchase the Pro-Trader workshop too! Some very Valuable information that will make you excel in your career and as a person.

    Thanks Simon,

Hope to speak to you soon!

well, when i first heard of benedix i thought to my self here we go again another company trying to make money from students. But i can tell you know that it is not. This why i personally think that benedix is great. I whent to Simon dixon work shop once and i went there not knowing what kind off sector i want to work in. He covered mainly everything there is to know about banking and finance and boy did i get all the info`s i have been dying for. i came out from the workshop knowing that i wanted to a trader. I TELL YOU THIS, IF YOU ARE A PESON WHO WANTS SUCCESS TO ON YOUR DOOR KNOCKING FOR YOU then its not for you BUT IF YOU ARE A HARD WORKING INDIVIDUAL and wants to be inpired and know about whats out there then give it a try. i wanted succes thats why i took that first step.

    Simon is a great presenter.

For those who already know they want to pursue a banking and finance career, this workshop provides a clear strategy for you to follow. Much of the information can’t be gained from lecturers or career service centres. It also helps you to set the correct mindset.

For those who are overwhelmed by the fancy “investment banking” jobs and don’t really know what is this all about, this workshop gives you the essential information before any serious commitment is made. It is straightforward, to the point, and backed up real life stories.

This is the best workshop I’ve ever attended in the UK. Highly recommended for students, graduates, and job seekers.

I was at the previous Banking and Finance Workshop during my last year of school.I just finished schooling this past autumn in banking and finance; and I’m ready to start my career in this industry.

During the last workshop I attended in 2008, I discovered my strengths and my likelihood area of specification, being Compliance Banking. This was realised through the psychometric test. This has helped me in the past year to focus more on this area.

Praise must be given to the way the seminar was executed. I did appreciate the 5 key aspects we were educated on; the “5 KNOWS”:
    *Know Yourself
    *Know the Foundation
    *Know the Game
    *Know the Players
    *Know Money

I am looking forward to this workshop because I did learn quite a lot from the last time on the “ins and outs” of this industry and through this, I will be fully equipped to make me succeed in my chosen career. To have had the opportunity to learning from a pro was an awesome experience.

I know this workshop will be of great resource for anyone who attends.

Attend this workshop, and you’ll be glad you did

I thought it would be just be “another” seminar but it turned out quite interesting and informative. The best part is that we dont only know what sectors there are in B&F but we can also focus on a particular sector in the B&F Industry.

He teaches through examples which makes it very easy to understand. Very impressed as he is pumped up throughout the seminar. And lots of online stuff to buy and learn.

Recommend this course to anyone like me who wants to enter the B&F industry but does not know how to go about things.

i heard about benedix from a financial news paper, i was reading at that time. i looked them up read their website, viewed the videos with simon in them givin an introductory message about the banking and financial sector and how to break into this industry. ive always been interested in gettin into the banking sector especially investment banks, but wasnt so sure which career role was ideal for me, and this is where benedix comes in.
i attended the professional work shop, last year, and was very upbeat to hear what simon had to say. from the moment he started speakin and goin through the inner workings of the banking and financial sector, i realised how little i knew and this inspired me more to figure out which career was right for me. the day was very educational and fun too, and put me in mind frame of how to apply for a career role of my choice. i now know what role i want to pursue, after signing up for the mastery programme.
inaddition to that the programme is a further enchancement which goes into details of how to apply for a role and interview techniques which ive never heard of before. this is truely valuable information for any one wantin to break into this sector. i highly recommend it to anyone and attend the work shop as you ‘ll be surprised of how useful it is to ve an edge over your competition, especially in this crisis.

Attending Simon Dixon’s Banking & Finance Seminar with Benedix was a life enhancing experience for me. Whether you are a graduate seeking experience in banking and finance or simply looking to find out more about the sector and how
‘The City’ really works, the workshop equals utmost value.

Firstly, you are guaranteed spending a great day on the seminar. I found Simon to be charismatic, devoted and in possession of a witty sense of humour. The lecture is
very well-structured and concisely presented. Simon’s ability to interact with the audience and the way he delivers and conducts himself on stage grabs the attention and allows even the less informed on the subject to absorb the lecture material easily.
Moreover, Simon brilliantly refers to and quotes some of the most famous lecturers on personal development, such as Stephen Covey and Anthony Robbins, and efficiently amplifies their findings with his own unique experience and insights.

In addition to that, the seminar is a rare opportunity to meet other applicants seen as competition and to assess your skills in comparison to theirs as well as to increase
awareness of both your weaknesses and strengths. Throughout the seminar Simon strongly encourages interaction with others in the room and you will even get a free massage! That is a joke of course, and you Must attend in order to find out More!

At last, but not least, besides than showing you how to focus on, pursue and fulfil your career goals, Simon’s workshop will have a spill-over effect in your other areas of life. The lecture is inspirational! It will uplift you and inspire you to become more proactive and creative and to act with integrity.

I would like to use this opportunity to wish Simon all the very Best in the future in all his personal and professional endeavours (especially with the Monetary reform,
    which I fully support!).

I recommend Simon’s workshop seminar on Banking & Finance to anyone!

In simple terms, it is a course that is for everyone and anyone who has ever dreamed about sitting in those plush offices and steering their course of life within the banking and finance industry while earning those big bucks. It enlightens one irrespective of his or her background about the various career paths within the banking and finance sector. It also brings one to terms with his or her true potential and interests which finally helps in deciding which stream of banking and finance he or she would want to commit to. For all those boggled by all the media hype about the current situation of the industry, this workshop will be a moment of epiphany. It will reignite your confidence more than anything else in yourself, in the fact that ‘yes you can do it and the sky truly is the limit’.

Simon was motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about ensuring you reached your goal. I learnt about the different careers available in Banking and Finance, how to achieve one of those positions and how to not give up and determination will lead you to success. I know I feel a lot more confident that I will be able to secure a career, with a CV that’s designed to stand out from the rest and a consultant that is ensuring I reach my goals. Unless! You can get a seat on one of the few cramped flights to Portugal your only option to get there is via France and Spain, with the help of a sat nav or atlas to stop you from deviating from reaching your target destination.

In the same light unless you can land your dream job or get on a grad scheme to your dream job in the city, the other route is via other “Stepping Stone” roles in the City with Benedix acting as your guide!

The insight you are exposed to at the Workshop is a real eye opener and allows you to get a clear picture of the setup of the Sector as well as the true state of the economy, from the large institutions to the niche market boutiques. The entire Sector is broken down, making it easier to first define your dream job and then with the help of Benedix define your strategy to reach there. I personally didn’t know what I wanted to be in the Banking and Finance Sector, but now I am working towards becoming a Proprietary Trader with a long term ambition on setting up a Hedge Fund.

Simon Dixons enthusiasm, drive and optimistic persona as well as his genuine love for the industry is very contagious and rubs off on you throughout the day. Pushing you to be more proactive and ambitious and not be put off by obstacles, but through trial and error and personal development carve a path through and reach your destination.

Worth Every Penny, even just for opening my eyes to the unbiased, factual state of the economy!

The workshop infact opened my eyes further to the possibilities around me and also gave me that edge and inspiration to go for what I realyy wanted knowing that the sky is indeed the limit. i must confess not only was I impressed with the workshop, but also with what Simon has been able to achieve and how he is trying to impact that onto others. My day was further climaxed by winning the CV writing programme and its a day I will never forget because it thought me so much about banking and finance and how to be influential as well as the 7 habits of highly effective people which i thought was very good indeed. I just want to take this opportunity to thank Simon and his staff for what their doing please carry on wioth the good work and I know its going to be a hit in the US and Dubai just as it was in the Uk. I honestly believe that anybody who hasn’t been to any of the workshops should take the advantage and grab this opportunity. I have experienced it and I can attest to it that its worth attending. I am currently studying Corporate finance and the information I got from the workshop and the website has indeed been of immense help to me too.

There are few reasons that I have recommended the workshop for everyone I know after I attended it. First, for people like me, who is an international student, new to the country, new to the financial world, this workshop gave me a lot of useful information, inside tips and knowledge. More importantly, it gave me the motivation to kick start and pursuing a career in Banking and Finance, getting rid all of my negative thoughts and start to believe I can achieve anything if I set myself a goal and commit myself to it. I am fortunate enough to went to the workshop at the beginning of my second year and by following through the proven path that I learn from the day, I have just secured a summer internship at Ernst & Young for Risk Management, I also get some other offers but choose EY as I believe the culture of the company fit my personality best. It is till a long way to go and I am much more confident now to face whatever the challenge I may have in the future.

Secondly, a lot of people coming to the workshop for different reasons. A lot of them already got experience, from secure an internship, graduate scheme to even having a position in a company. They still decided to come to learn and promote their career path. This created a great opportunity for networking. What you learn from the Benedix team and Simon is important, but the people you met and keep in touch after that is crucial. I improved myself so much because I still keep in touch with some workshop graduates who got more experience than me, ask them for tips and opinion, and also thanks for the Benedix career consultant, that helped me a lot through the application process this year.

Lastly, the workshop is even good for those who have not decided what they want to do in the future yet.And that is so true, not every one are certain about what they want to do in life after school or have a very blur vision about it. Then why not come to the workshop, find out whether Banking and Finance is for you. If it is, great, you got a goal now. If not, at least you can look for something else, save yourselves a whole bunch of time, I believe in order to secure a top job in this market condition, it takes hard work, so there is nothing worst than secure one and realize that it is just not for you, The earlier you attend, the better.

    Good luck for you all.

I attended the Benedix course last year in order to find out more about the world of finance and what role i thought would suit me best.

I was very keen to attend because Simon had already given a fascinating talk at my University concerning his alternative theory for the reasons behind the most recent financial crisis. I was not let down a The City Professional Workshop. Simon manages to bundle fun with a huge amount of useful information into his one day lecture.

Following my attendance I decided to purchase the CV workshop and pro trader workshop as it was trading I felt fitted my personality and my interests. These enabled me to write a well rounded finance specific CV and increase my knowledge of trading and i now have the confidence to trade an account of my own.

Benedix are always on the end of the phone for advice and I have found them particularly helpful in attempting to secure a summer internship.

    Thanks Simon and Thanks Bendix!

To be honest I was weary of coming for the simple fact that it cost money and like most students I’m careful. But after some consideration I decided to go along in order to really develop an understanding of the actual roles in Banking and Finance as most job descriptions tend to very from one place to another and you can feel a bit lost in it!

But I am pleased I went, if not to increase my understanding but to also motivate me to carry on going with my own dreams and ambitions.

There is such a variety of people on the day, some have done MBA’s, ACCA’s, and numerous other degrees and qualifications so its really an opportunity to get to know people and make connections.

I am now part of a Traders and Investment Club too that is kind of a part of Benedix, which has really pushed me to continue my learning by myself and by talking to others.

I feel my eyes have opened up to new careers I have never imagined or would consider as well as really allowing me to push myself – to find out more!

I would really recommend the programme, to anyone, from any background.

It helped me to gain confidence and inspired me to set high goals for me and I am almost near to it. It gives you an outline and a number of steps to take to achieve your dreams. The access to their Benedix is a treasure to every candidate searching for a job and those who are satisfied in their present jobs. Attending the course will make vast changes in your life and helps you to avoid the negative environment and people with negative attitudes in life. Go with a open mind and believe in yourself. After attending the workshop Understanding Banking & Finance that are the first lecture offered by Benedix, I felt it was really helpful to me. It gives me a deep insight into the City. For instance, I got to know the different roles and institutions making the City work, and how they cooperate with and play against each other. Moreover I also had some clue about what kind of job I would be interested in, and what are the requirements for those positions.
Simon is really a good lecturer, who taught us with detailed explanations in clear words and senses of humor.

I just felt the whole day passed so quickly, and I never felt dizzy or bored at all. At the mean time attending the workshop not only makes me have deeper understanding about the industry but also allows me to know people who share the same enthusiasm in Finance as I do. And the interactions among people during the workshop definitely made me more proactive.

To be perfectly honest, I had absolutely NO IDEA who the hell Simon Dixon was until one day my accounting lecture at John Moores Uni in Liverpool was interrupted because ‘a man’ had come to do a talk with us about securing a job in banking and finance. I thought to myself ‘What the hey!’ I was in the process of finding a placement anyway, what did I have to lose? I went along and we were presented with a man in a grey suit, pink shirt and pink tie who started telling us about how perseverance was his key to success in getting a high paid career in banking and finance. I didn’t know what to make of him! Later on I did some research on the internet and to my surprise I found out that he’s actually a ‘somebody’ in the banking and finance world having worked with the BBC and even consulted for the U.S. government. I signed up for the workshop and thought ‘at the end of the day, if nothing else, it’s a weekend in London with my mates!’. Off we went! Looking back, the workshop was one of the most useful things I could have done at this stage for me. It lasts all day which was a bit off-putting but then Simon is so energetic and eccentric you can’t help but pay attention! The advice you get is invaluable as Simon tells you the techniques to use in order to successfully navigate your way to the top of the banking and finance career ladder that you want to climb! And it is presented to you in a way that makes you remember it; most of it is printed off for you so there’s not to much note taking either. If you’re still not sure whether or not you should go, I can thoroughly recommend it to you as a person who isn’t biased. Even if you get there and decide it’s not for you, you can stay an extra night or so and make a weekend of it!
    P.S. Remember the fly!

The way Simon present is very different from other orator , he asked everyone on site to walk out of the comfort zone right from the start of the workshop. It is very interactive. To be honest I was slightly sceptical about the day at first because being unemployed, even though only £97 I was worried about wasting my time and money. This all changed as soon as the day started, I never realised how inspiring someone could be. Since the day (late last year) I have felt my chances of securing a job have improved ten fold and more. Before the day I was always applying to various graduate schemes and rejected minutes after I had finished the application and sometimes it took a couple of weeks to complete. Once listening to the information Simon had to say things started to turn around. Since the day I have had a few interviews and I am progressing through a graduate scheme, which would have seemed impossible a few months ago. I’m not saying the day is a miracle worker but after using the information gained and talking to people at the day it all seems so much more possible that I will secure the job of my dreams. This all may seem to good to be true but I have come from sports related background and I only achieved a 2.2 degree. Since the day I have joined the traders and investors club, started a professional qualification and used the skills taught on the CV mastery course to gain so much more information about the financial world. It has made me realise how to create opportunities for myself through being proactive and networking. I believe this course is quintessential for anyone who wishes to enter the financial world. You maybe already in a top job working for “the big four” or just about to start university this course is the best place to start and worth every penny and more. I can guarantee that whatever your level of experience you will learn something at this on this day as long as you open mind and take in the information.

You hear in the papers all the stuff about the big salaries available from banking and finance, but what they don’t tell you is that this isn’t the only lure to this area as a career. If you have no idea what banking and finance entails this is the place to come. It not only shows you the basics of the industry but from the get go the areas that you might enjoy and what you are suited to depending on your own characteristics and traits.
The advice you get is invaluable as Simon tells you the techniques to use in order to successfully climb the banking and finance career ladder! The thing is all the stuff you learn isn’t just for the banking world, but applicable to all jobs so if the world of banking doesn’t take your fancy its all transferable.
The course is presented in a manner that actually increases your interest and not a lecture, its something that makes you interact with those around you as well as Simon himself. You will find everyone there so helpful and their advice is so useful. If you still have your doubts in attending, I would suggest seeing the online video, it’s only £47 and see it as an investment and the world becomes your oyster. It was one of the best £47 I have spent and haven’t looked back since.

Love being unemployed? Love being rejected for every job application? Love getting your hopes up and then failing at the interview stage? Love being broke? Please look away now.

Attending Simon Dixon’s Banking and Finance Professional Workshop gave me a fantastic job, invaluable professional and life skills and the edge over the majority of applicants. The knowledge you’ll gain from Simon Dixon’s Workshop is recession-proof, 150% success oriented, incalculably rewarding and unique.

This Workshop will give you inside information on the sectors that you should target based on your skills and the current economic climate. You will know how to telescope your job search and achieve more by doing less.

I can honestly say that Simon is a passionate, committed (he does adequate research to ensure that he‘s giving you the most up-to-date information based on the current economic climate and devices online seminars to help you with your professional life after the programme), innovative speaker who you can tell genuinely wants you to come out of his workshop a few steps away from your new job. As a former jobsite-C.V Advice-How to get your dream job advice book-Recruitment Agency-job-training-course-junkie I think that I’m qualified to make this assessment.

This is a unique opportunity for you. If however you want to stay unemployed, rejected so much that you feel like a professional loser and broke go ahead. If however like I did you want to take your career to the next level, have more offers, earn more money and do so at an incredibly quicker rate than everyone else go for it. If you still feel unsure I want you to remember a few wise words:
‘‘All achievement occurs outside of your comfort zone. If you strive to be secure you’ll have a life of mediocrity.’’

    Fantastic workshop!!

    I had tried EVERYTHING I could think of to secure the start to my banking and finance career, and although it hadn’t been all bad, it hadn’t been good;
…75 applications a year (for THREE years of University)
    …maybe 5 calls to interview
    …2 final round interviews
    …NO OFFERS ! !

I didn’t have a bad degree, I didn’t have bad experience, and I always did thorough homework on the companies and sectors to which I applied. And like so many other before me, and I am sure like so many since, there was no reward for all my efforts and I couldn’t understand what I was doing wrong!

My University careers advisor suggested I go along to a workshop that she had just heard about, specifically for people in my position.
Those who have the hunger and the desire to succeed, who want to do things for themselves, but just can’t understand why despite following all advice from lectures, parents, friends and careers advisors they aren’t securing that role.

It was a Benedix Workshop, delivered by the ever-inspiring Simon Dixon.

In my opinion this is without a doubt the BEST opportunity for expert careers advice that you will be offered in your whole time at University!!

If you want to have to only attend one careers event ever… this is for you!
If you have made hundreds of applications… and received lots of no’s… this is for you!
If you have made no applications, and have no idea where to start… this is for you!
If you are a final year student worried about where to find a career… this is for you!
If you are a 1st or 2nd year looking to get ahead and gain a HUGE advantage… this is for you!
If you have no idea about what you want to do… or if you know exactly what you want to do… this is for you!
For business, economics, law, engineering, accounting students… or anyone thinking about a career in the city… THIS IS FOR YOU!

I can’t sing the praises of this Workshop and the impact it will have on you career highly enough.
Suffice to say if any of my friends ever ask me for any direction, or any “tips” when they receive back letter after letter saying “no thanks” to their applications, I point them all to the same place… BENEDIX!!

This workshop was really worth going since it took one full day to give me deep insight into this industry. For instance, I got to know how the industry is divided into different sectors, who are the big players as well as other small ones. How different divisions integrate the full finance game, and some times they cooperate with each other and sometimes they are counterp parties. After the training I found myself wanted to build my career into Trading, as Simon successfully did before.

The mentor, Simon was really good, friendly, professional and really helpful! During the workshop, he taught us complicated ideas with easily understood explanations and sense of humour. Also attending the workshop enabled me to know more candidates sharing the same enthusiasm in Banking and Finance as I have.

If I would be given another chance to attend some more trainings, then I will definitely go to it.

Benedix training was really useful and informative, and I recommend all my friends wanting to get into this industry to attend the trainings.

The workshop is great insight into the industry, don’t hesitate to take it!

As a graduate of Investment and Fiance, I have always wanted to work in the Investment, Banking and Finance sector but without a clear picture of what area of the sector I want to work in. Given my academic and professional accomplishements, and interest, the Banking and Finance Professional workshop (which covered trading) helped me dicover that trading is my ideal career path. The one thing that has helped me out such a long way from the workshop was hearing that a ‘failure is an increment towards success’. This is what I needed and it still stays with me today. The motivational aspect of the lecture is still coiling around me like kinetic energy today and only because of Simon and the Benedix group, am I still actively in pursuit of my dream career.

Prior to the lecture, my head was filled with doubts, I was broken and disappointment from rejections and completely lost in my job search. I was applying for jobs not knowing what that job entailed. I decided to invest in this workshop. I knew I would gain some sort of positive things from the lecture, But I was wrong! I gained lots of valuable advice, information and motivation and therefore it was definitely an investment which paid off dividends.

Simon really got into my head and said everything I was thinking off. He carried on to provide a fantastic crowd with a overview of the financial sectors, insights into different roles alongside interview tips and few secret tips, which you can find out when you attend ;)

I have followed the advice of Simon and applied it to my own applications and I have had a higher range of positive responses. If I had not attended the workshop, I seriously would have been a completely different person. This workshop changed me for the better!

Honestly, as a broke graduate and with student loan hanging over me, this was hard for me at first but you will realise at the end that this was really worth every penny.

Many thanks once again to Simon and to the Benedix Group.

“It’s a scam!” – that’s what I thought when I received a call just a day after I attended one of Simon’s university presentations. “It’s too good to be true, so it must be a scam!” But there was something in the way Simon expresses, an inspirational upbeat….and the story..the story was sure one everyone of us can recognise themselves in. So I took a shot at the old simple rule “No pain – no gain” and attended the Professional Workshop.
May I just say…the best investment I’ve made so far in UK!!!
Before the workshop the only thing I was certain in was that I want to achieve a career in finance, but why, where, when and most importantly HOW?! I did not know…Sure there are plenty of information and institutions you can apply to, but they are not exactly lining up and waiting for your CV. And sure…school teach us a lot of things, but noone actually shows you the link with the REAL finance sector. And of course trading sounds like a cool profession, but is it really for me? Have you ever felt so confused, knowing you have so much work to do to achieve something, but not knowing what exactly it is you should do…
All of that and much, much more you can get answered in a way that would make you feel so pumped up and excited, that you will feel ready to dive in the financial sector’s ‘deep waters’ right after you go out of the workshop venue. And there’s more to it….it’s not all about finance….it’s about success in each aspect of your life…sculpting your future using the three “P” – positivity, proactivity and personality to become a truly successful, confident and fulfilled person from the inside. Who would say “no” to you after that? And would you say ‘no’ to that?

I have entered this workshop feeling sleepy, cold and skeptical, and not having a very good idea whether I want to work in the banking industry, and even if I want- which sector of it I would like to work in. To be honest, that was mostly due to a large amount of prejudices and myths about banking, as well as the fear of not being able to cope with the challenge.

Simon has managed to tackle all of these problems- he told us about his own story (and he started from a much less privileged position than many people in that seminar, and also had to learn the hard way, making all the possible mistakes while trying to secure his own career). This cheered me up quite a lot, as now I knew that I had all the necessary resources to get myself into banking, as long as I felt determined enough to do so. He also explained to us the differences between various roles in banking, and that helped me to make up my mind about which career ladder I want to pursue (sales and trading). And finally, he gave us some invaluable tips about approaching companies regarding internships, and once again backed it up by personal experience. It was amazing how he managed to keep our attention focused on the subject for the whole day, and he was clearly utilizing the techniques he was talking about (e.g. NLP).

So, for me, and for all of the people I met in that workshop it was a highly rewarding experience, as, like in my case, it allowed us see a clearer goal ahead and the means by which we would be able to reach it. But most importantly, Simon has made us shape the right mindset for achieving this goal, and handling the possible difficulties in a correct manner. This is the reason I would recommend this workshop to anyone- as you can always do your research and find the information you need, but only with the right mindset will you be able to put your knowledge into action.

I graduated last year from a good University in Economics and Finance, and went into the “real world” with the perception that I was now owed a job within Finance.

I made generic applications to a whole host of institutions, and unsurprisingly came out without any offers and without a plan B.

I found myself at the Banking and Finance workshop, not really knowing what to expect. 8 hours later I was inspired, energized and ready to put what I had learnt into action.

What Simon does so well is explain the financial world in terms everybody can understand. He highlights and provides answers for the mistakes so many Graduates make; having overcome them himself.

The workshop was a real eye opener for me; it’s got me motivated and focused and I’m now taking actions to get the career that I know I can have.

The workshop was the beginning of my relationship with Benedix; I’ve continued to attend events, study their excellent home study programs and network with some of my fellow workshop attendees.

I’ve recommended Benedix to a number of my friends, and if you are serious about a career within finance, I recommend it to you as well.

But Simon Dixon was brilliant, he got us all up to do some warm up activities, got us mentally prepared for the day and started the day with a bang.

I learnt SO MUCH from Simon. Before the workshop everything was muddled up in my mind. He explained everything so simply that it was like a jigsaw puzzle fitting into place.

He discussed the reccesion, the role of Finance within the city, the roles of each sub-sector within the Banking and Finance sector etc. His expertise and knowledge was just sinking in to everyones mind like a sponge.

You will not only get very practical approach on how to do things but as well you will put your mind set in the right mode to get what you are looking for, and if you are not sure yet which role is it, you will have much clearer idea once you get involved and attend some of Simon’s Workshops.

All I can say is that the workshop is brilliant. Before I went to the workshop, all I have is the passion to enter the financial sector but not the knowledge which leads the way even I have read lots of books about it. The workshop covers a lot of essential knowledge. It is not just about all divisions within the sector and what they do. Some very useful application and interview techniques are also included.
Throughout the workshop, you will realise that this is not just a Finance and Banking workshop, you can see many essential elements and summaries of other famous skills seminars and how they can be applied to your application process. I think all these are carefully picked by Simon from his previous invaluable experiences in those seminars. It does save a lot of time and I don’t need to try to find these materials and think how I can apply them.
So, I strongly recommend it especially for international students. I did not realise getting into Investment Bank is that tough for international student before I got rejected by serial Top-tier Investment Banks.
If you are serious about your career in Finance and Banking, I will say this is something you can’t miss. Thanks Simon

I attended the workshop after being recommended by a friend who had attended and used the skills, techniques and knowledge that they had learnt to go and secure a career in Finance. I went into the workshop with high expectations and was not left disappointed. Simon Dixon is a great teacher and motivator who showed me another side to starting my career in Banking and Finance from his own personal experiences, for example the great effect the networking can have and how to use it to your advantage. The skills and knowledge you will learn are those that you can not only apply to your professional career but also your personal life.

I would recommend this workshop for those determined to secure a career in Banking and Finance, also those who are not quite sure what they want to do in the future and would like a greater insight into the various sectors that are available to go into.

I had almost finished writing my review when suddenly the page froze and said not responding and shut down!! I was gutted and thought of abandoning the whole process but then I felt that would be injustice. My experience with Benedix is something that ought to be shared and I felt compelled to start writing again, even if it only benefit 1 person, because to that 1 person going onto the Benedix workshop will be a life changing experience.

I was told of Benedix by a friend, who knew of a friend of a friend who was helped by Benedix. That was too much of a chain for me and when he mentioned the P word, PAY, that was it! Why do I have to pay a recruitment agency to help me get a job?? I was sceptical and did not even look them up and continued to search for a job using my same method using the same CV that a friend of mine in Construction had given me a template to use. It wasn’t until 5 months after I first heard of them that I decided to try. Boy was I so wrong. From my experience, Benedix is not a recruitment agency and what they give you is not a job, they give you a LIFE and propel you to unlock the potential that is already within you to achieve your dream career in Banking and Finance.

On the day I got up at 6am still sceptical and moaning that I was travelling very far although it was only 20 miles north of London. It was October 2009. I imagined the workshop will be about 20-30 people and wondered what will be taught in 8hrs. Upon arriving at the venue, I was relieved. I saw scores(hundreds) of smartly dressed graduates all queuing up to register. I then discovered that some had come as far as Scotland, Newcastle and someone came from France!!!
Once the workshop began, there was no looking back. Simon is a genius at what he does. He engages you right from the beginning. He lays out a simple yet powerful strategy to unlock the city gates, the downside(lol) is that YOU hold that key to unlock your career. Simon opens the door for you but you have to get up and walk through it. This is for only those who are serious about working hard. I am glad I went to the workshop and on the day I also enrolled on the Mastery programme and the Protader. The Mastery has equipped me with the knowledge and skills especially influencing skills in applications to and approaching Financial Institutes. I have completed the Protrader and I also joined the Traders and Investors Club and have now opened my trading account and trading the financial markets giving me some income while also learning how the markets work and the types of products. I now read the financial news and know whats happening in the City and beyond. So if I go for an interview, I can now speak their language, I know whats going on in the financial markets and I can talk about the skills and knowledge I have self developed while trading my own money.

By attending the workshop you also get a certificate endorsed by CISI which is a bonus on your CV and also you get to network and keep in touch with other people pursuing the same career and exchange ideas. Benedix gave me focus and I have chosen the sector I want to work in and I am now studying the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) examined by the CFA. I haven’t secured a position as yet but its not a matter of IF, its a matter of WHEN, and the answer is soon!!!!

I’m an international student from china, studying Economics and Maths in Bristol University. I applied for loads of internship in my 2nd year without stratedy. Obviously, I was deeply frustrated by the rejections.

However, Simon’s workshop inspired me and gave me strong positive energy to keep going passionately, from physiology to stratedy(modelling success) Even If i miss the deadline of all bulge bracket’s internship, I still have other chances. WHEN GOD CLOSES A DOOR HE OPENS A WINDOW. ONLY THE EXPERIENCE MATTERS!!!!!!!!

As most of the Chinese students, I have NO relevant working experience in banking and finance in UK.Now simon offers a great new opportunity to gain experience– working as a affiliate with Benedix for my own business.

Bulge Brackets close their door for me, but Benedix opens a window. I’m now keep applying for mid-caps or private funds in the city who dont offer internship but ask them for experience by my commercial awareness. (eg. affiliate for Benedix)

I really appreciate Simon’s effort to help us gain working experience.

I DO BELIEVE I AM ON MY WAY TO SUCCESS!!!!!!!

After attending many many company presentations at my university from very successful investment bankers and hearing how they all got in to the industry by internships, the only advice they could really offer is “get an internship.”

Great!…Everyone went to apply for an internship…then calculated the chances of getting one and then found out..its not easy.

Then Simon came along and gave one of the best presentations I have ever attended because he genuinely wanted to offer the best advice. He was the most inspirational of all the highly successful professionals as he was in the same position as most graduates..he had a degree..and many rejections from the banking and finance industry.

I was so eager to know more about Simon and was so impressed that he wanted to share his experience, knowledge and mistakes with everyone to help them on their path to securing a career in finance. The Banking and Finance workshop changed my attitude and understanding of what I needed to do and how I needed to do it. Simon’s energy and passion in the workshop is so motivating, the advice he gives is truly priceless.

Benedix is fantastic! The support and commitment is overwhelming and I would highly highly recommend the workshop to anyone!!

I first heard about benedix in a career event held in my university where Simon did a presentation. His presentation was so different and so breath taking that I immediately sign up to the Benedix City Professional Workshop afterwards. I knew it would be great. I was wrong; the seminar was simply mind-blowing, no doubt, for me, it was a life-changing experience. It not only showed me the path to achieve success in the banking and finance industry, but also I think if you can master the skills Simon taught in the seminar, you can succeed in any industries wherever you are going to work in the future.

About a month ago, I took a train to London. When I arrived at the venue, I was surprised that so many people took their time and made such efforts to attend the workshop. Indeed, we were so lucky, as we will be able to avoid making the mistakes others would make in achieve success in the banking and finance. Simon used his personal experience to show us the correct path and the skills needed to guarantee a place in banking and finance. His life story is so motivating and makes you believe anyone can succeed so easily, simply by just doing the right things and he is going to show you how.

The seminar is very interesting and well-structured, combined with Simon’s amazing presentational skills and his fascinating insights in the banking and finance. It made me realize how little I knew about the industry and inspired I to figure out which career was right for me and more importantly how to fulfill my career goals.

The most valuable thing I learned apart from the information about B&F and how the city works is the 3 skills we must have to achieve success: mindset, strategy and jargon, things you will never learn from school. Before coming to the workshop, I always make excuses for opportunities I missed and the things I failed to achieve. He made me realize how important in my life to push myself and to step out my comfort zone and to be more proactive and ambitious and not afraid of obstacles.

I know it’s a full day event with only little breaks but I promise it is going to be fun and believe me you would want miss out on anything because it’s just so great. In addition, you can meet lots of people like you wanting to achieve high in banking and finance. I am still in contact with some people I met in the workshop who I became friends with.

I have recommended to lots of my friends already and here I will again recommend you who’s interested in banking and finance, it’s an experience you will never forget and more importantly it’s an investment on yourself f which you will be able to benefit in your future.

Also I would like to use this opportunity to thank Simon and benedix for everything they have done and wish you best in all your endeavors.

I would always like to meet people with same goals and interests. My email address is lisn2183@googlemail.com; everyone who is interested in banking and finance and has an ambition to achieve success in this industry is welcome to contact me.

“This must be the worst day of my life.” This is what I said to myself 5 mins being in this lecture theatre. Well I worked up late on that day missed my train and had to wait on the Station platform for more than 30 mins in the cold. Finally catch a train and guess what? It was a slow train ( Normally from Portsmouth to Waterloo takes 1h30 but slow trains take about 2hrs). I was all going bad. I was so hungry as I did not have a breakfast as well. But yeah my misery carried on…. My tickets was book in advance for the train that I missed. So I was on a train without a valid ticket. I had to pay a fine and it goes on. I reach the seminar 30 mins late. I enter the room which is full and guess what I see… I see everyone massaging their collegue next to them… (I just cursed my self for spending that much money to come here). But I thought let me just sit down and try to concentrate.

Well if I being perfectly honnest with you, I had no clue how quickly time flies and it was the lunch break. I was like in a sort of trans not believing how much I learn in these 3 hours. I was convince then that It was definitely worth the money. :) No need to tell u after the break when he started the business life cycle and went into his top tips and advice, I realise Man! I had a really cheap deal. Just this seminar alone is worth much more than 97 pounds.

Every minute of this day is invaluable and if someone is really genuine about getting a job in BnF, this is a must.

Let me give u an example of how it changed my life.

In December b4 the benedix seminar, I did 12 job application. Guess what …. 12 rejections.
After the seminar and and with the CV mastery programme, I made 3 job applications. Hehe big change this time… I got 2 interviews coming up. One next week and the other one in 2 weeks time.

I think I will end here but guys trust me it is so worth it.

I attended the workshop on the 30th January,2009.I also bought the CV Mastery Programme and the Professional Trader Programme.
All the programmes helped in a clear understanding of suitable career giving deep analysis of each career role in the various divisions of Banking & Finance.
Moreover,Simon Dixon gave value added advices that enabled me to take small steps inorder to take a giant leap in the near future.
The money spent on buying the workshop and programmes were worth spent considering the long term payoff.Let me say to you jobseekers,I was not having enough money to buy all the programmes but decided to buy thinking of the fact that Simon Dixon have considerable experience wroking in the Banking & Finance sector and hearing from him first hand is better than going to a person who hasnt worked in the sector.

Its not normal for me to be able to sit down for an entire day but I found the whole workshop so worthwhile due to Simon’s motivational talk and what we were taught really did strike home with me.

I have been applying for graduate training schemes in finance and have not enjoyed any success with my applications. I kept on thinking about the intense competition for these places on such schemes and thought I would never get a place. But having gone to this workshop and from following up with the CV, Interviews & Applications Mastery program i have enjoyed more success.

I was quite skeptical to start with because I first went to Simon’s talk at my college, where we left our details and then eventually got a call from one of the consultants.
I signed up to the workshop almost instantly because I wanted to get myself prepared as soon as possible when I finally finished my MBA in Finance. It was possibly one of the best decisions I have made last year because attending Simon’s workshop was really eye-opening and his energy and enthusiasm were contagious as you won’t believe. It was really great to be in a room with someone who believes so much in what he’s doing. His passion alone has motivated me during the first 15mins of the workshop.

I then signed up for the mastery course the week after, and Benedix consultant has been very helpful throughout my internship search in the banking and finance institutions.

I took a friend of mine with me (who by the way went to one of Benedix workshops afterwards) and went to see what it is all about. After that I felt that this is what I was looking for.

I didn’t forget about Benedix. Some time later, I went to City Professional Workshop which turn out to be better than expected; a massive experience.

Dynamism of the workshop didn’t even decrease during the brakes. Special atmosphere of the event, possibility to chat to other fellow participants, kept us focused and ready to the next parts of the workshop.

I’m year 2 undergraduate student, and constantly thinking to secure my career in banking and finance. I’ve got an impression that with a big help of the workshop and afterwards Bendedix supervision, I’m going in a good direction. Thank you Simon and all Benedix team.

Like most people I was very sceptical to attend Simon Dixon’s workshop at Benedix. In fact I was so scaptical that i was googling to find out what people had to say who had attended in the past.

I have graduated few years ago and have a Non-finance/economics degree and few years of experience not within any Financial Institution and I felt that this workshop is for University students and fresh graduates and I would be the odd one out!

I will keep things ‘real’. This workshop has not changed my life like it did to many people here who commented on this page, however, It gave me a clear understanding of Banking structure and guided me to target those organisations who are hiring and not firing.

Simon had shared his own experience candidly which many of us can relate to. He also shared what is it that Banks and other financial organisation looks for in a prospective employee, with that in mind I am currently undertaking CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment) certification.

If you are on your final year or just graduated and would like to work in Banking and Finance and have no clue as to which sector to work, you will be benefiting from this workshop more than anyone else.

    Dear all,

Benedix is the real deal! What Simon Dixon has to share with you is nothing short of life changing. So whether you just want to know more about banking and finance careers, or are seriously considering a career in this competitive industry, well Benedix City Professional is the perfect solution.

I attended the Professional workshop and this was the best proactive step I took in the pursuit to my ideal career. Simon is an excellent public speaker. What he says is not just captivating, but it is also true!!! You see, Simon is the walking model of what he teaches and you will soon found out for yourselves! In fact, the experience was so inspirational that I purchased both the Banking and Finance Mastery Program and the Professional Trader Program. So expect advice from how to dramatically improve your CV, to mastering interview techniques and persuasion skills, and much, much more. You will also be assigned to a career consultant.

Personally this is what happened to me. Shortly afterwards, I joined KPMG Mauritius for 5 months to work as a trainee advisor. There I had the opportunity to assist in conducting a financial due-diligence for a hotel group, and I also assisted in the valuation of an acquired capital management company. Now I am sure that some of you will know that when a company raises money, a corporate financier needs to review the due-diligence that accountants put though. So the experience was truly rewarding! I am now intent on completing the CFA.

Friends, I want you to know that Simon is more than a banking and finance careers coach. He taught me that my personal development is vital to my success in career and life generally. So be prepared to learn about the 7 habits of highly effective people! If you want to be one of them, the choice is entirely yours. Simon lives these habits, and I believe he lives the eight habit too :)

So if I am writing this today (it is my birthday, I should be celebrating lol !), it is because I truly hope that this helps you take a positive step in your career.

“We are the creative force of our life, and through our own decisions rather than our conditions, if we carefully learn to do certain things, we can accomplish those goals”-Stephen Covey. I hope this quote inspires you to adopt the right mindset. Thanks again Simon for all your positive energy!!!

Last year I applied for almost every graduate program of Bulge Brackets. After received dozens of rejection letters, I felt so disappointed and even considered giving up pursuing my career in Banking and Finance.

I learned about the Benedix City workshop by chance. At first, I just wanted to try seeing if this is helpful to my job-hunting. However, Simon’s presentation totally inspired me and he showed the great skills and strategy from his professional experience. Lack of experience is not the real reason why the largest banks rejected me. Simon let me know what I should do and how to do.

Another important point I learned from this workshop is that there are lots of banking and finance institutions other than Bulge Brackets. So I am applying for them now, and I have joined the Benedix affiliate program. Thanks for giving me this chance to gain some working experience in banking.

At last, I must say it is definitely worth to attend the workshop.

Like most students, paying money for seminars outside university is something that I seriously consider.I ask myself the very question: Is it really worth it? well I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that attending Benedix Banking&Finance workshop is one of the few best decisions I have ever made in my life. I have learned things that I have never been shown or tought at university, the gain from this workshop exceeded way too much than the gain from my degree course, it is like you are given a Sat-Nav when you are lost in a big strange city or being given a compass when you are in the middle of the ocean or desert.
There are two people that have made a life changing impact on my life, and Simon Dixon is one of them. A huge thanks to Simon Dixson and god bless him.
Honestly speaking, on a moral side I want to recommend this workshop to anyone who is genuinely determined to get a job in top paid Banking&Finance industry. However a selfish side of me would want to stop me doing this, becaude if you are one of the 99% graduates outthere who doesn’t know the real techniques of how to secure a top banking&finance job in the city, then it will be good for my benefit, means I will have less competitors. I guess I am not that selfish after all since I am sharing my real thoughts about the programme with you guys,
So it is really your choice.

The Banking and Finance sector is very often chosen just for the sake of professional prosperity and wealth. Yet, before one gets lost in the constant chasing of higher salaries, promotions, privileges, one should look closer and see beyond the shiny facade. There is much more to entering that world… it is the passion to pursue challenges and the ability to turn fear and hesitation into inspiration and motivation. That is never an easy road but certainly is the most valuable one. City Professional Workshop was one of the main sparks that gave me the courage not to give up and to believe that there is nothing impossible…that it is always a matter of time or a matter of effort for us to achieve what we aim for. I had never met anyone who can spend a couple of hours talking to a group of hesitant and scared people and transform them into confident individuals ready to chase their dreams…not until I met Simon Dixon. I guess all I am trying to say is simply “Thank you”. You made me stop for a moment, think and realise that it is not the circumstances that control my professional and personal achievements, it is only me to rely on and me to believe in! Good luck to all!
    Thank you, Simon!

What do you have to say?
I had a basic idea about what I could get out of the workshop as I watched all the free videos from simon before I attended the workshop on 30th, Jan 2010. It gave me, as I expected, everything I need to know about banking and finance career. I also began doing real practice to know myself. The workshop was down to earth and gave me all the useful information, resources and tools, together with Benedix online career centre, coaching me to conduct a comprehensive research and a long term career plan. Another important thing to mention: the workshop began with a psychological lesson which convinced me of being focus and positive thinking. I would say it gave you everything you need, from psychology, to strategy, in order to secure a career in banking and finance.
I strongly recommend future graduates to attend this workshop!!

I was in my second year at university and I knew that I wanted to work somewhere in the Finance industry but I was really unsure as to what specifically I wanted to do. However, I came out of the Banking and Finance workshop knowing what I wanted to do and thanks to Benedix and Simon Dixon; I knew how to get there. I can honestly say it was by far the most valuable careers event/workshop that I have attended and it gave me an incredibly useful insight into the industry and gave me such a valuable and proactive perspective.

However, this programme is so much more than just the workshop, the post workshop programmes are unparalleled and I was taken aback by the level of support I received by Benedix. Through using everything I learnt at the workshop, utilising all of the online resources on the Benedix website and with the help and advice of Simon Dixon I have secured a trading internship this summer. I have little doubt that I would not have gotten this internship were it not for this workshop and the post workshop resources, and for that I am very grateful. This workshop is suitable for anyone that has an interest in finance and is a positive person, and essential for anyone that wants to stand out in such a competitive industry.

If you only attend one careers workshop, then attend this one, it could get you that one interview, that one internship, that one job, that might just change your life.

I am a kind of person who is very sceptical when it comes to on-line advertisement and training workshops, but I cannot find the right words to explain how good the workshop was and that I will be glad to introduce anyone who is willing to make it both in banking & finance and any other graduate job.

It is an eye opener, and one thing I can assure anyone is that, just coming into contact with Simon Dixon will crush every fear and ignorance when it comes to looking for Banking and Finance job. I wouldn’t say it is for only Banking & Finance Job because the knowledge you will acquire could be useful in all walks of life.

If Simon was to be a product in the market, he will be the most effective cleaning agent who deals with all stubborn stains and kills every gem of fear, pessimistic, uncertainty and incompetence.

Anyone in doubt should read other comments and also try it yourself and when you taste and see that it is true all that we have said, then you could refer to me that Eric said it.

Any other word stronger thank you? please let me know so that I can use that for Simon.
Until I get that new word all I want to say to Simon is,

    Thank you so much Simon.

I recently finished University when I attended the Benedix City Professional workshop. I was not particularly sure about the exact area of Banking I wanted to work in and I had previously made several unsuccessful applications to Investment Banks. The City Professional Workshop has really given me a well rounded understanding of the different areas in Banking and Finance and what it takes to be successful in these respective areas. I have also learnt about the different ways of securing a job in the Banking sector.

I now have a clearer picture of where I would be best suited. I have learnt about the importance of being proactive in my job search, in learning more about my field and in developing myself both personally and professionally. It is about being different and standing out, finding out exactly what it takes to be successful in your chosen field and becoming that ideal candidate, by being focussed and leveraging your experiences. These are some of the things I learn’t from attending the workshop.

So be proactive!! I would encourage all who are looking to embark on a career in the Banking and Finance sector to attend this workshop. Although I am yet to secure my dream job in the city, I continue to push on and I am confident that I will get there. This wokshop has provided me with the much needed platform, tools and resources to be successful. It also connects you with like-minded people and is an excellent networking tool.

Simon Dixon’s seminars are really vibrant and electrifying seminars that I have ever attended in London. They are not only about the knowledge on banking and finance, they are about the clear picture of making things real and achievable, using a fresh mind set.

I am coming from engineering background with not strong knowledge on banking and finance. However Simon manages to put things crystal clear in a very accessible language that help me to see clearly where my opportunities in that exiting and dynamic field.

Now I encourage any one with the “yes I can do” attitude to attend Simon’s workshop in order to start a new life in banking and finance

It opened my understanding of the city, career roles and the financial services industry. It was so captivating that I could not resist enrolling for the City Traders seminar that followed shortly and has been privilleged to attend the monthly Traders and Investors Club meetings in London also pioneered by Simon.Coming in contact with Simon and Benedix has added so much value to me.Despite coming from a science background what I learnt from these seminars made me outstanding in an MBA Finance class.Simon is well versed in monetary economics and listening to his analysis of global economic trends/events (which usuaslly occur as predicted) makes you feel he can see into the future.LWe in London will miss his physical presence at TIC monthly meetings and wish him all the best as he moves to a higher phase in New York.Even if you dont want to pursue a career in banking and finance attending this seminar will surely add value to your career, life, relationships etc.Above all you will be infected with Simon’s resilience, positive attitude,Cv tips etc. Please dont let this opportunity slip by.

Simon Dixon’s one day workshop provided me exactly and much more than what I needed. The workshop was excellent!!! It didn’t only meet my basic need for which I intended to attend this workshop but also made me aware of the job market and helped me align my career goal to future prospects.

I would say it has helped me narrow my focus from the wide Banking horizon. I intend to join the CV workshop in future which I know will make the difference between me and other applicants.

The workshop really helped in my case to clear up the confusion I had surrounding what employers looked for in potential employees. It helped me to understand the wide variety of roles within the sector and even went as far as to recommend the necessary qualifications needed in each case.

The way the presentation was run was excellent, Simon managed to keep the room engaged for the entire day. Something that’s extremely hard to do considering we were talking about financial markets.
Overall it was a great experience and I’m really glad I got over my initial apprehensions to take the time to come down to London.

I WAS that fly trapped in the room – continually hitting the window! The I was shown the gap through which to escape….

Diligently listening to the inspiring words during the amazing Workshop, I realised that I desperately needed to adopt a NEW strategy, if I wanted to achieve my dream career in banking.

I enjoyed networking with many who had attended, including Simon Dixon and the Benedix team, which fuelled the flame within me to just ‘make it happen’ NOW whatever the cost!

My attention during this one-day Workshop exceeded that of when I was an undergraduate during my 4 years at university! – due to the unorthodox methods employed by Simon Dixon. His straight-talking, genuine, yet humble speaking-style hit a nerve, deep within me, which transformed my psychology and mindset, thus increasing my self-confidence, and believing that I CAN DO IT!!……………………………….. And YOU CAN TOO!!

ONLY knowledge put into action will produce the results wanted. Realising I was living far within my limits, immediately I set personal goals toward mastering the 3 skills taught, and placing myself outside of my ‘comfort zone’ in order to progress.

EDUCATION is the ability to meet life’s situations. When we stop learning, we don’t progress.

Thank you Simon, and the Benedix team.

Since I was a little kid I was very interested in banking & finance. It is the industry I always wanted to work in. Now, after the seminar I am even more hungry to achieve everything I set to achieve in banking & finance.

This workshop provided with some priceless knowledge as Simon covered many important aspects of banking & finance industry and what it takes to put yourself in the position of opportunity. I found the section about psychology and the right mindset very valuable as this is probably the most important area that is usually taken for granted. Simon put it into the perspective and inspired many people that attended the seminar.

This workshop provided me with answers on many questions I had prior attending the seminar. Very valuable indeed!

The event was also great opportunity to meet various people with similar mindset and ambitions. Bonds were made, many of which will undoubtedly pave ways for successful future collaborations. This is why I find this experience priceless.

Also, Benedix has arranged a prize draw where one person will have a chance to meet Simon and respected CEO over launch, which is just the kind of opportunity that young assertive professional with high goals and value adding potential will grab with open hands and make it happen in the world of banking & finance.

Thank you Simon, Jal and all the others that made this event happen.

I had booked myself to attend the city professional workshop on 27th march, but could not attend, due to urgent personal circumstances. But I did attend one of his workshops earlier and the VIP session too. I would like to share my experience of Simon and Benedix.
A few months back, I had recieved an e-mail from benedix. And when I think of it now, I realise, it was one of the most momentous…
It opened a new world for me, I came to realise the full potential of the city, and how rewarding it could prove as a career choice.
I was given expert guidance on my preferable sector, my CV, the online resources on the site where breathtaking, I learnt a lot about the industry, I was given the list of companies to apply to, I learnt about trading, etc.., etc.., etc..
But the most imposing impression in my mind, through this process was Simon, and his inspiring lectures, his ability to motivate, his personality, it gave me confidence about what I was doing.
And above all, his insights, I believe they are universal truths about life, important for any body aspiring to gain a successful career, ANY career, and his strategy’s for the Banking & Finance industry….
The list goes on…something very unique I couldn’t find else where….,
This is a small tribute, and a recommendation to any one planning a career in Banking & Finance.

The program names (e.g. Quick-start and Make-it-happen) are accurately and appropriately named and I truly believe you will not derive a better understanding of how to succeed in B + F without significantly greater expense, effort and time somewhere else.

    Hello!

I was very sceptical about this workshop. Well, who wouldn’t be, I’ve stumbled across the Benedix website by accident, read about a guy who seemed to know how to get a job in Banking and Finance and was happy enough to share this information for a very low price. And this is, when FT is commenting on more cuts in financial institutions… However, as someone said, “You should leave no stones unturned…” So after checking that the company actually exists, that there are real people answering the phones, I figured, “Well, what have I got to lose: a relatively small amount of money and a Saturday for which nothing much was planned” and enrolled.

In every financial institution where I’ve applied so far, I was either ignored or told I was too young, too old, too tall, too short, did not have enough experience, had the wrong experience – well, most people can probably add to this list. Well, after going to the seminar, I’ve realised I’ve been going about securing my career in a completely incorrect way. The workshop was different from any lecture one might have in a university, from any meeting with graduate recruitment consultants or a visit to a talk given by an HR representative of a bank.

I really do think that Simon and his team are unique in several ways (this is in no particular order):

    1. They are definitely great sales people but don’t just try to sell you a useless common sense concept – they actually help people understand what has to be done
    2. The seminar and the post-seminar videos helped me to understand myself a little better
    3. They crystallised my understanding of banking and finance job sectors and more importantly where I might fit in, neither of my two degrees helped me with that
    4. Throughout the whole seminar Simon kept everyone’s attention and interest – which is incredibly difficult even when one is making a small presentation – what is more, he also motivated people to believe in themselves
    5. The presentation provided enough advice about ways of starting a career in finance that are alternative to traditional graduate schemes – which was just what I needed
    6. Simon kept his promise and stayed to answer everyone’s questions after the seminar
    7. The seminar also stopped me from making a mistake of signing up for the wrong qualification and wasting more money
    8. I am now enjoying the post-seminar videos that came as part of the package and preparing for my consultation that everyone gets with a professional adviser trained by Simon
    9. Everything I’ve learned inspired me to enrol in both the Banking and Career Mastery Programme and the Professional Trader Programme, so now I can’t wait to start working on those!
    10. Finally, I must note that not only was the seminar very informative, it was also fun!

Well, that’s the shortened version of my review of the seminar and I hope that someone else might find it useful!

    Good luck! Evgenia

Having met Simon Dixon i now think that i can be even more driven and do more to get my ideal job, i thought i was doing everything possible after the workshop i realised i am not and Simon Dixon is even more driven and more motivated than i am. I learnt on Saturday that i can do more and that is part of one of the skills he mentions its about changing my psychology and mindset to do more. I am not a recent graduate i am in the industry but this workshop has motivated me and helped me to see the end goal my dream job. Ironically, this serious but fun workshop is not just for graduates seeking a career in banking and finance. If the concept of money that is not cash frazzles you, or you wonder what goes on inside those tall glass buildings called banks, this is for you. It does not matter what your career intentions are.

    * A one day degree in Banking & Finance for anyone.
    * What Simon teaches is rarely if at all taught on an MBA!
    * Learn about the practical applications of “soft skills” that make all the difference, emotional intelligence and neuro-linguistic programming.
    * Understand how money is created through debt, its connection to the cyclical debt of developing countries and the need for a paradigm shift amongst developed nations.

As for me, these were my key takeaways. In these times of global economic turmoil and future financial uncertainty, anybody who makes a financial decision of any kind, decisions related to personal finance, business finance, a charity, NGO or 501(c), quasi-autonomous NGO (quango) and definitely anyone even remotely interested in a career connected to the “money industry” needs to learn from this workshop that is presented in a simplified “finance for dummies” style.

Can all these comments be true? Go and find out for yourself! If you don’t you simply do NOT know what you do not know.

Is it worth the £200 to point you in the right direction?

When I first came across this program, I was intrigued, but I had a list of questions of what it was about. (It wasn’t skepticism of the legitimacy as much as the quality of advice it gives.)

In any instant, we come across wave after wave of generic career advice of getting a grad job, but doesn’t quite work as well as we hope. The last thing I wanted, after just coming out of university with a pricey MSc, was to pay for something at inflated City prices and let it end up being an ineffective use of money. It had to deliver.

As I scanned every ‘crook and cranny’ of the website for answer my questions, particular things from speakers, that I came across during my time at university, popped up at the back of my mind (loosely quoted):
“We don’t normally look into graduates with 2.2s unless they are truly exceptional.”
“The grades we want only amount to a tick in a box…”
“We only look into your first degree.”
“The average life of a career in the City don’t normally last more than 5 years.”
“You will need to apply to over 100 institutions in order to get 1 interview.”
“There are 20000 applicants for every job we have” (to a reputable accounting firm before the Credit Crunch)
“You are competing with people who have been made redundant as well as other new graduates”
“We do reject applications from those who did attend top tier universities; it’s more about your fit to the job than your background”
“Employers want applications written especially for them and for the role they are applying for.”

At the time, I had a CV showing people that I had done a variety of things: joined societies to show team work; done volunteering to indirectly show my ability to do the job; a variety of temp jobs in offices to develop my reference. It wasn’t enough to secure a summer internship.

I later met a speaker who told me applying just for any job in hopes of getting into the company and then switching roles to something completely different is really difficult to do and not many make it through. The conventional advice wasn’t working.

The facts that program mentions must agree with some of these opinions and it must mention ways of getting around some of these odds and issues. It didn’t disappoint and the reviews checked out.

Taking on the course required a leap of faith (no matter how small), but the remorse dissipates quickly after the first session.

The program will cover basic career advice, but it goes into detail and it guides you through the similar tools Simon used to get to the top of his career before he became 29. The program will also go through additional material that will be useful.

A lot of the material covers self development of how to look at opportunities and how to influence. It is important because of the nature of business in the banking and finance industry as well as how you should use act during interviews. As I have done some of the work on influence a self development program already, the material didn’t quite seem all that new to me. On the other hand, if you never came across self development before and you implement what you are taught, it can completely change the way you see the world works. It is empowering and can change much of the results you are getting. (I can also vouch that the value you are getting, for the self development alone, is worth at least twice of that of what you are paying for.)

The course for the qualification was short, but intensive. It is like having a book from the FT crammed into a few hours, whilst being endorsed from a professional body. This qualification’s course serves as a great introduction into the functioning of the financial market and it signals your intent of working in the banking industry.

There will be opportunity for people to network with those who are also looking to get into the industry and with those who are leaders in aspects of banking and finance. I consider this to be the most important aspect of the program; the opportunity to network here allows you to meet influential people, who may be doing business with one day, and meeting like minded people, helps you get motivated to get things done.

Was it worth the £230 to get a point in the right direction and a step by step plan of what to do to get a job in the City? Yes. For me, to get a plan of what it actually takes to get to the top of my career whilst building on skills and knowledge I would expect to need in the future is invaluable. It’s especially important when you are applying for a career that requires you to be outstanding (‘excellent’ is now considered the new ‘mediocre’) and when you need to do to have a CV that does stand out in the right ways.

That’s not to say completion of this course will instantly make you God’s gift to banking and finance and automatically gets you a job. What this course does guarantee you is it gives you the framework that would make your efforts effective in securing that first job you need for the career you want and points you in the right direction to building a future that you want in the City. It is rare to see career advice this comprehensive and tailored to individual needs.

Although this is a course that will suit anyone looking for careers in the City, I think it would benefit most those in their first year at university, or who are yet to be enrolled on their first bachelor’s degree, and are considering a career in banking and finance, because of the time they can save. To me, anyone who is willing to invest £6000 per year on a degree that may have uncertain benefits and may not equip graduates with skills for the workplace, would likely want to invest in a £230 course that shows how they can get the commercial skills they need, how to use their time effectively whilst at university and be able to stand out from some graduates from even top tier universities.

If you are determined and dedicated to getting the job you want, dedicated to fulfilling your life’s goal through your career in the City, and rise up to challenges, this is a program for you and I hope that I too would meet you to secure business deals together in the future.

    Hi Everyone,

I recently had a telephone consultation with Jal Islam, one of the key players at Benedix; to establish whether I was a suitable candidate to take part in the Banking & Finance Mastery Programme. Like a large percentage of graduates I have found it difficult to break into the industry, apply to any job that I saw advertised.

Then I had a realisation, there was no point in aimlessly applying for roles that would not add any value to my CV; or studying towards a Masters with no guarantee of getting a job at the end of it. It was time to take the relevant steps to get the career I wanted.

The prospect of competing in a male dominated industry would perhaps put some women off. I believe a lot of people in general settle for second best. But I have never been one to let anything stand in the way of getting my dream career. It will be a challenge, but I know that once I have the skills and knowledge to succeed, I will have the potential to become an ambassador for women in banking.

I would definitely advise people to connect Jal Islam, or any other consultant at Benedix, to see whether a career in banking is right for you. The support that you will receive throughout the course is invaluable. What do you have to lose?

    Hi Simon,

I had just the best skills, great mindset and even better personality now that I have completed almost all the Banking and Finance Professional Program. Gradually, I am applying the psychological mindset, open-mindedness and make use of my RAM more often to my current job that is an independent private banking. And it is showing me better results on how I see opportunities in my current job and seeking more opportunities outside as well.

Before I came across benedix, I was searching for an online CFA course which I could do everyday (300 hours) and take the test. But sad to say since I graduated my university 4 years ago and have not attained 2 years of work experience, I was not qualified to take the course. On the other hand, I am even glad to come across with benedix during my further research on CFA. And I am even happy that I took this opportunity which even changed my personality and how to deal with opportunities right in front of me and make use of my RAM as often as I can.

After taking my psychometric test, my result is Sales and Trading. I am quite happy with it because I know that since I was in my university days, I have been actively involved in campus activities, did almost all the sponsorship deals for event funding, marketing paraphernalia, advertisements and campaigns for the 2 years in service of our student council. I know I have the pushy, wanting more and fire personality when I am into the game and I was just confused at one point because I thought my skills best fit M & A since they do more on deals and presentation. But I feel trading works best for me.

There is nothing to lose, we just need to work with our minds open and seek more. Thank you for your time and efforts on this magnificent training.
