Was a good insight into the city - I learnt about a lot of things I didn't know about behind the scenes etc ie. level II, general back office work.

The programme was very insightful, I learnt a great deal by attending it. It has pushed me in the direction of technical analysis and informed me about proprietary trading.

This programme is all I needed to kick start my trading profession. It is true that you need to read severel good books to get an idea of how actually the trading works but you cant actually comprehend the concepts unless you see the bigger pictures and step ahead to see how trading actually works. Simon Dixon has done an amazing job to explain his trading strategies in the simplest possible way. DO TAKE NOTES WHILE YOU LISTEN TO HIM! ! !

On the whole, it was definitely up there in calibre, I'd say 9/10! The trainings have been highly inspirational and motivating! I'd say 10/10. The home reading I did not do because that's just me, I do not work if I am not motivated on a daily basis.

I thought this course was excellent, really motivational. I would recommend this to anyone whether they are pre or post graduate. This has helped me gain some real career focus and develop a long term plan. Definitely worth the money.

Easy way of learning the structure in the banking industry, what each role entails and the processes carried out to transfer information and transactions.

I believe it was a very intuitive programme that taught me the basics of trading, whilst introducing myself to useful technical indicators that are ample in my success in trading.

Simon! This workshop has not only given me the belief that I can make it in the Banking & Finance sector, but provided me with principles that can be applied to all aspects of life. Being a technical geek, I was limiting banking and finance in it's tiny portion. Thanks to Simon to bring it to limelight. After intensive workshop, my whole perception about B & F has been changed. The City Professional Workshop represents a great opportunity to obtain a review of the City's structure and the different functions within it. A great addition to the day would be to use more generalized and realistic examples of potential job hunt rather than personalized 'lucky' moments. Simon's review of the financial crisis represented a quite simple but rather interesting point of view detailing the causes of the situation. I attended the workshop on September 5, 2009.

I feel greatly indebted to my friend who told me about the workshop. Indeed, mastery of the principles taught in the City Professional Workshop is the equivalent of obtaining an insurance policy against failure in life not just job hunting alone.

I know that giving review about this workshop is a bit late. Still better late than never.
Before going to this review, I heard reviews from my fellow students, who had this workshop before and their review was deplorable. But I decided to try and I liked it right from the beginning till the end. Moreover, I still use it in my own life.
Of course, all matters in opinions. However, before going to this workshop be ready to change yourself, to look at yourself from the different point of view, to think about your strengths and weaknesses. Then this workshop will be very helpful.
I want to thank Benedix for giving me such opportunity. I enjoyed every minute of that day.

The first time when I come across Benedix was at university, therefore, I had some idea what the City Professional Workshop might be like. Deciding to participate in the event, made me fell that I am well investing in myself. The day fulfilled my expectations 100%. I am really boosted with a new thinking and approach to my career in accounting. Simon and all Benedix team were fantastic. Information given was very well balanced in terms of the financial sector structure, present economic situation, and practical tips. It motivated me to even harder work to achieve my goals.

The one day workshop for the city professional workshop opened my eyes to more things than I had previously thought possible. What's more, Simon managed to keep my undivided attention for the whole day (a difficult task). Through his obvious passion for what he does and the well thought out structure of the day, I now have a much clearer view in my mind of what I want out of my career. I now know exactly where I want to end up and how I am going to get there. The thing that struck me about Simon's presentation was his emphasis on the importance of being pro-active in your career and why most people are not very successful. I went into it thinking that I was going to just be lectured on everything there is to know about getting a job in the city. What actually happened was much more than that. The seminar was highly interactive and I came out genuinely excited about what I was going to do next. I can't fault it. Even though there was a venue change, I was kept informed by email and text in plenty of time. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable and insightful day.

Many thanks to Simon Dixon and the Benedix team for a highly engaging seminar. I felt that the major areas of the industry were covered in remarkable detail considering the short one-day time-frame; but at the same time Simon’s explanation of how the different roles within the industry relate to one another provided the much-needed macro viewpoint. There were also some really pertinent messages during the first third of the day pertaining to remaining positive and proactive – considering the state of the job market this is certainly more important now than it has been for a long time. As someone who is new to the banking world, I found it a fantastic collection of information covering a wide range of areas. I give specfic praise of the sections of trading techniques. The variety of different strategies discussed were very well presented and answered many of the questions I had.

The video and resources available were extremely helpful with some fantastic advice. The e-workbooks provided for free contain a huge array of helpful material whilst the videos include advice that will help you improve your applications and get your "foot in the door" of financial institutions.

The trading course was amazing on most of its parts.

The day is well organised, fantastically presented and very inspirational. It helps you see the big picture in the world of banking and finance. When the day is finished, you'll know exactly what area of banking you wish to go into with tips on how to go about it. I was very hesitant at first to sign up to Benedix but I can assure you, IT IS WORTH IT!

I travelled from Manchester on the National Express leaving Manc at 1.30am and getting into London for 6am so I was extremely tired as catching sleep on the national express isn't the easiest of things. Simon Dixon was probably one of the most inspirational people I've ever met achieving pretty much everything there is to achieve in the City. You know he has been in your position looking for work and facing another rejection letter but his workshop gives you a real slap in the face to those (me) who start accepting defeat. You don't have to apply for the same jobs as everybody else, there are thousands out there! Simon keeps you hanging onto every word and you go away with a renewed motivation.

For those of you who are in 2 minds whether or not to attend, just read through all the testimonials and you'll see that you are not being ripped off. Also, you come away with a career consultant who points you in the right direction. What more could you want?

Despite already having a grounding in the City, the workshop was still quite useful with masses of information condensed into a single day. Overall, this is the ideal guide to applying to the bulge brackets. With so much information out there about what not to do and how to get your head around applying, this course has given me a definite direction in what I think to be the most nerve racking process in landing a job. I found it very motivational, and after having researched for over a year on the topics covered, I can say that this programme has been a life saver in the sense that I now know everything I need to know in what is expected of me in the application process.

If nothing else it gave me a boost and re-motivated me. I'd heard a lot of 'NO' lately and to have seen someone gone though the same made me feel a whole lot better.
I've now got a new approach to get this job!

The workshop was extremely inspiring, it felt like a lot of us were able to relate to Simon's stories and therefore learn from them. It was a motivational day, really forcing you to decide exactly what you want to do and how to go about securing the role you want. Since then I have had a call from my career consultant pointing me in the right direction. Definitely worth going to.

Overall I am very glad that I attended the event.

Listening to Simon Dixons personal career story is definitely a must, its very inspiring and real... Showing how he overcame his own great personal challenges and went on to achieve a very successful career in Banking and Finance.
One of the best things about the event in my eyes, is that it makes you see that you must to stop making excuses and get on with getting that job! Benedix promises to help you in the process with all kinds of advice and further information,which I have yet to see....
One downside I would say however, is the speed with which the second halve of the day goes at. Its a little fast! So I was a little baffled at the end when so many sectors were covered in a short period of time. 8 hrs is not enough?

Very inspiring and motivating. I was able to come out with a clear idea what are the jobs that exist in the city, thier profiles and hierarchy thoroughly. Simon also gave how much we could earn in each jobs and how easy or complex the jobs are. This is a very very useful presentation that gives you a direction where you want to go.

At the beginning I was really weary whether or not to pay for such an event. But everyone in my position should know, that its great value for money and the stuff you learn can really help you. I took on board alot of important things and changed my approach in job hunting and definately motivated me to not give up. I feel I am getting a little more response with my new approach and simon dixon is the reason why. Definately something everyone should recommend to friends. The only sad thing about the whole event is.........I didnt win the raffle!!

Initially, when i was reluctant to attend because it was a whole day and i was like what would i possibly achieve within a day for the amount i am paying, i might as well stay home and surf the Internet. I was expectation the programme to be similar to those we know all ready. but boy! I was in for a surprise, nothing I was epecting.I alreday new the sectore I wanted to work, but mine was joke. He touched on all the roles in the financial sector and the interdependece of those roles.I was also inspired very much on how he made.To put in a phrase what i learnt about to approach ajob finding I would say "THE USE OF UNCONVENTIONAL METHODS AS OPPOSED TO CONVETIONAL MTHODS, IN JOB FINDING". thanks to you all.

He is damn right about 'The reason people don't get what they want is because they don't know what they want', stay focus and be persistent is the key to success.

There are certain things that are hard to understand from books and other secondary resources. Almost every key area covered, underpinned my doubts and questions. I went to this workshop on a very cold morning. So, I expected it to be worth it. The workshop started a bit late and the interviews were a bit behind, but Simon was a great speaker and the whole day was brilliant. I learnt an awful lot and I quickly put into practise what I learnt with great results. I now have a positive outlook and I am making plans how to achieve what I want. I would highly recommend the workshop, I was lucky to have attended.

Worth much more than they charged us so it was a great value for money. Simon has brilliant presentation skills and shared invaluable experience with us.

Having watched Simon's 15 minutes clip on Benedix website, I expected a dynamic and powerful presentation. Happy to say that my expectations were met. His story of incremental high achievement was very inspiring. I learnt the strategies to make a successful application and shine in the interview. I am determined to put them to practice and change the course of my weaknesses in interview into success.

One suggession I would like to make is that please at least arrange some light refreshments for people who come from various destinations to spend a long day in the workshop. I am sure this make will the workshop a more welcoming experience.

It is a great course. A busy day, but i got as much information as possible! I as a plain paper before this course, got a superb insight into trading. And I started to like being a trader more than before. I hope everyone wanting to be a trader shall attend this course if there is a single chance. But I hope not everyone will attend because all the participants will be strong candidates then for the trading roles on the job markets:) hahahaha..... I strongly encourage people to attend to this course.

Loved the presentation today. The speaker was extremely inspirational and helped me gain the extra motivation needed to get ahead in finding a job in the city. Only criticism would be the last part of the presentation, key 4 - Know the money. I thought the speaker Simon Dixon gave a lot of criticism about the current situation in monetary funds but never really gave an alternative.

well..i apreciate Simon's way of teaching ..it's really impressive, but to be honest , from my point of view today(29th Nov) he has taught us 2 points: some aspects regarding the financial world and secondly how to present ourselves to an interview in order to be successful.But, i think these two targets were mixed and that has confused me as i think he should have been clearer by dividing the seminar in these 2 sections.But i repeat that's only my opinion.

Very well presented indeed but what a lot to learn! I particularly liked the jargon limited delivery for beginners like me.

I felt the seminar gave us valuable inputs about the banking and Finance industry as a whole. It was very holistic picture in such a short time. It also cleared a great number myths regarding the industry. Any graduate who wishes to pursue Investment banking industry, should attend this course. But I felt, there could have some focus on the companies that we can apply for. On the whole, I liked it, especially the Credit Crunch part of it.

Extremely good presentation. Again captivating talk grasping audiences attention. Definitely well experienced lecturer trained in many different fields. I think it is a quite good day, provide lots useful knowledge, experiences, terminology, skills and aids for a successful internship in this high competitive industry. Simon is a really nice man with creativity and passion, really impressed me, and I really appreciate the amazing presentation.
Although long time working is normal for working in financial industries, I think the time is a little bit long, maybe split into 2days with more examples and details, or some further explanations in specific area would be better for us, easier to cover and memorise most of the stuff mentioned, and more pleased with less tiredness, it should be better even it would lead to cost few more money.
That's all. And I'm looking forward to this sort of workshops or presentations in the future.

I benefit a lot from this workshop. Now I know what and how banking and finance careers. It was very well presented. Moreover, Simon gave so many examples and real case situation where I can imagine how the world of banking and finance.

Outstanding!

First of all by all means I always have a very critical point of view but I have to take my hat down in front of Simon! If I can say it's outstanding then definitely it is!

My mind started to react differently and started to reset itself during the seminar.It started to rumble and rumble for 2 weeks coming up reformed now. All sorts of scenarios got pictured in my head. The outcome of all this was a clear picture of how I can fit my skills (already developed) in a career,that being the base, and also what other skills need I to gain in order to completely engage to make it happen.

What I started to do differently is that every morning I wake up at 6am and hit the gym. Not only the day seems to have more hours but I get done far more in the morning, even tough I hated mornings!

I would recommend the seminar to everybody as it's worth every penny and every minute.

Well detailed and exemplified spiced up with the personal real experience of Simon, the "Training Day"(as the movie) gives you an inside view of the world of Finance and Banking.

Whether you already decided what you want to do or either you don't know what to make of your future go to see what Simon has to say and the amount of energy he engages in and then set the standards for yourself.

It was a good introductory workshop which helped dispel some common myths associated with trading. Good course content which beats reading a trading book, along with the trading strategy which anyone could use!

The trading course was amazing on most of its parts.
It teaches you some very valuable theories and gives you an insight of the banking industry. Simon Dixon did a great job and was very motivational in his speech,his suggestion to read the book Trading in the Zone has already change the way i perceive the trading.

I feel too much positive with will to do something after attending the seminar. Just recommend to everyone who seeking their career in banking and finance.

The workshop was great value for money as it provided a great insight on the City that you don't get taught in your lectures. Simon's presentation was clear and concise and his personal experiences kept you intersted throughout the day.

Informative and attention grabbing! Well presented. I had decided prior to attending the seminar to change direction and even though I wont be looking for a position in banking and finance most of the information is transferrable and relevant to interviews in all fields.
One piece of constructive criticism would be that we needed an extra minute or two for taking notes once a point had been made with examples.

I thought the seminar presented by Simon Dixon and the Benedix team was absolutly fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the seminar, and would most certainly urge other students to attend the seminar. Before attending the seminar i was unsure on which area i specifically wanted to apply for. The seminar was very informative and helped me make a decision as to the area i want to apply for. My only regret is i wished i had attended the seminar in my first year instead of my third year. I am now thinking of approaching my university GET team, and inform them i had attended and ask for the opportunity to persuade other students to also attend the seminar as i feel it will be a great steeping stone, especially for first years! I would like to thank Simon for sharing not only his experience but also his knowledge.
One area i feel that could have been a little better was the explanation of the roles in the Banking and Finance sector, it was a little rushed and in the one minute break i found the majority of attendees were asking questions as to what certain roles meant such as the prop house. Other than this it was a brilliant seminar and i will srongly advise the first years at my university to attend the seminar to give themselves a head start.

Being a technical geek, I was limiting banking and finance in it's tiny portion. Thanks to Simon to bring it to limelight. After intensive workshop, my whole perception about B & F has been changed. It was really productive. I found the different area for career opportunities and got overview what the whole system consist of.
