In answer to the compliance officer….although there are no formal qualifications to work in Compliance there is certainly an expectation from the regulator that you have the relevant skills, knowledge and expertise to undertake your role. People dont go into compliance and then trading, if anything its the other way around.

The point im making is if your in Compliance you :
a) are already qualified or have the neccessary knowledge, otherwise you wouldnt be much good in compliance if you didnt understand investments and regulation.
b) If your in Compliance you cannont not be aware of RDR and the new qualification requirements, unless your incompetent, or have been living in a regulatory void cave……so why would you ask this question??

Unless of course these arent real adverts, from real people, which is my suspicion……not printing my comment would suggest im right!

and yes i am qualified and yes i do work in Compliance,

It will not teach you how to trade the markets though.

You may want to consider our professional trader program for that. If you want to book an appointment with a consultant to discuss making the shift from Compliance to trading I suggest connecting with Jal Islam on Facebook to arrange as it is a very tricky shift to make, but possible.

I am currently working as a compliance officer within an investment bank supporting their wholesale and treasury and trading team.
I would love to be a trader.

I have completed Unit 1 FSA Regulations and now currently studying Unit 3 Derivatives.

Would this give me an advantage to get into trading? Or would you suggest something else?

Qualification are a waste of time if not combined with a strategy for building a brand and becoming connected in inter dealer broking.

You should enrol on The Banking and Finance Program Plus and you get the qualification as part of a training program to break into inter dealing broking and becoming connected.

I have around 2 years Operations experience.
What would be the best way for me to get into an inter-dealer broker?
I am afraid that these qualifications will be a waste as I have no FO experience.
