What is a Fund Strategist?

Strategy is the division of the investment institution which advises external as well as internal clients on the strategies that can be adopted in various markets. Ranging from derivatives to specific industries, strategists place companies and industries in a quantitative framework with full consideration of the macroeconomic scene. This strategy often affects the way the firm will operate in the market, the direction it would like to take in terms of its investments, the suggestions salespersons give to clients, as well as the way structures create new products.

If I work in Strategy what will I be doing?

As a strategist your main responsibilities will be:

• Assisting the development and production of trading strategy products and ideas with fund managers;
• Liaising and coordinating with the research teams;
• Interacting with and presenting to institutional and corporate clients;

As a fund strategist you will work within a high quality team of analysts, strategists and consultants supporting the executive board in driving improvement and development to specific areas of the group. You will review, analyse and appraise the funds performance including providing focused analysis on specific market streams and assisting in the formulation of specific business plans.
