Prospects for finance graduate job seekers and others could be on the up, according to a new report.
A study by the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) revealed more than a third of firms are planning to hire staff this year.
Chief executive of the organisation Carl Gilleard remarked: "This is good news. Last year, we feared the worst. We didn’t quite get the worst, but there was a significant fall of ten per cent in graduate level vacancies."
He added that in February the body had thought there would be a fall of approximately 1.6 per cent on graduate level vacancies this year, but the figure seems to have balanced out.
The poll asked 91 graduate employers if their 2010 targets were higher than last year and 37.4 per cent said they will be taking on more staff.
Meanwhile, the Business Scotsman recently claimed that around 400 firms will be heading to the UK to set up businesses, which could mean around 15,000 jobs will be created.
