Finance graduate jobseekers and others should use social networking sites to search for vacancies, an expert has suggested.

Sales director at womenintechnology.co.uk Claire Goodwin said using technology to its full advantage could be crucial in finding a dream job.

She noted Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn are all good networking tools and they can be used to communicate with colleagues and acquaintances as well as friends and family.

Ms Goodwin remarked: "The importance of networking can’t be emphasised enough – you never know who could lead you to your next job or opportunity."

The specialist added that graduates need to have confidence in IT as it is a vital skill that can be listed on CVs and it may put applicants ahead of the competition.

A study from the Chartered Institute for IT revealed access to technology has a positive effect on life satisfaction and it can also increase happiness levels.
