Banking graduate job seekers and other university leavers have been reminded of the importance of crafting a CV that catches a potential employer’s attention.
Former recruitment agent Gavin Redelman emphasised the need to stand out from the crowd, noting a high proportion of graduates do not know how to present themselves on paper.
Knowledge, skills and experience were highlighted by the expert as being key components and he observed that a job seeker is unlikely to secure an interview without a strong CV.
"I used to see hundreds of resumes come across my desk every day that I wouldn’t even bother to take a second look at," said Mr Redelman.
Earlier this week, Friends Provident suggested graduates will need to find more innovative ways to approach the job search.
Chief executive Trevor Matthews made the comment as an increase in older workers was predicted to be seen over coming years.
