The number of banking graduate jobs at Santander is expected to increase for 2010, with new recruits in the UK set to reach 230.
The bank aims to expand its graduate recruitment over the coming year to include areas such as corporate banking, and adding to the existing schemes of finance, branch, telephone distribution, audit and HR.
According to People Management Magazine, the bank took on fewer than 70 graduates in 2009 but is upping its search in anticipation of the economic recovery.
Santander HR director Simon Lloyd said of the recruitment drive: "The uplift in the number of graduates we are taking on demonstrates the strength of the Santander approach to banking.
"We see our investment in graduates as an important step on the road to becoming the best commercial bank in the UK."
Finance graduate jobs have also become available with retail giant Asda, as it steps up recruitment for its 2010 graduate programme.
Up to 50 positions are available in finance, e-commerce, IT, supply chain, trading and distribution, reports the Times.
