‘Optimism’ about future of jobs market

A positive outlook about prospects for economic recovery will be reflected in the jobs market this year which could see more finance graduate jobs becoming available.

That is according to not-for-profit organisation Work Wise UK, which has predicted that employment could see an upturn in 2010

Recently, a report by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) revealed that the growth of permanent placements accelerated last month to the sharpest since July 2007.

Phil Flaxton, chairman of Work Wise UK, agreed with the report’s findings by saying that there is currently a lot of optimism with many organisations turning the corner to recovery.

He said: "A lot of businesses have now gone through the pain barrier in terms of restructuring their borrowing and their overheads; this will generally lead to companies seeming more optimistic.

"They would either want to retain staff or take new staff on."

Candidates who want to take advantage of new finance graduate jobs should ensure they have access to the latest careers advice.
