The number of banking graduate jobs available at investment banks is due to rise by a third this year, with the financial services sector having one of the fastest-growing rates of employment.

That is according to new statistics released by High Fliers Research, which examined the recruitment intentions of Britain’s top employers.

Prospects are also rapidly improving for finance graduate jobs, with professional services firms hiring more people this year.

Overall, recruitment targets are up by almost 12 per cent, although those graduating in 2010 have been warned that their predecessors from 2009 and 2008 may well snap up the lion’s share of new jobs.

75 per cent of employers say they have seen significant rise in applications for graduate jobs, the BBC reported.

This week, not for profit organisation Work Wise UK said that most employers were adopting a positive outlook in 2010, an attitude which could translate into increased employment activity.ADNFCR-2605-ID-19555272-ADNFCR
